The Nintendo Wii has cemented its position as the most sought after console on the UK market according to new chart data. GfK Chart Track figures show enormous growth of 2.5 million units for Wii since September 2007. The console now boasts a market-leading installed base of 3.6 million units.

Nintendo may be planning to release an official Wii pedometer peripheral - emulating UK studio New Concept’s Wii Jog device. The platform holder’s effort was spotted on the European trademark registry OAMI (by Kotaku ), and appears to be a small, square white box.
